Waste Reduction Week Events

Waste Reduction Week Events

Commerce Court is pleased to invite our community of tenants and visitors to join us in celebrating Waste Reduction Week, October 15-19, 2018 by learning about waste as a resource through the Circular Economy. We have organized a week-long educational exhibit reTHINK WASTE and a clothing and household textile Recycling Collection Drive. Read below for more information.

A pop-up exhibit designed to challenge our views on waste materials. Visit the week-long exhibit in the Compass beginning October 15.

Participants are encouraged to visit the exhibit’s quiz website to enter into a prize draw (available from October 15-19, 2018).

Recycling Collection Drive

In partnership with Partners in Project Green and Diabetes Canada, the Recycling Collection Drive invites the Commerce Court community to bring their old and unwanted clothing and other household textiles from October 15-19, 2018.

A collection bin will be placed in the Compass beginning Monday, October 15 until Friday October 19.

The Recycling Collection Drive accepts clothing and household textile items in all conditions. Please ensure they are cleaned before donation. All clothing must be placed in plastic or paper bags before being placed into the bin. The material will be collected for reuse and recycling by Diabetes Canada.

Here is a list of materials that are accepted:

Clothing, shoes, boots, purses, bags, belts, ties, blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, sleeping bags, draperies, curtains, plastic and stuffed toys, and yarn. Electronic waste is not being collected this year.
