This year’s Waste Reduction Week was celebrated with a variety of events that educate and engage tenants and visitors to Commerce Court.
The Hanging Garden: Transforming Waste into Living Spaces
An original art installation by Toronto artists Labspace Studio featured over 1,000 plastic bottles reused from the Commerce Court food court transformed into a living, hanging garden. Visitors were treated to their own planter bottle at the end of the exhibit. See photos below. For more information about the event, click here.
GEEP E-Waste Collection Drive
GEEP, in partnership with CIBC, invited the Commerce Court community to come by the East Lobby and drop off their personal e-waste for recycling and a chance to win prizes. The collection drive was part of a national campaign to encourage safe electronic waste recycling in partnership with Canada’s Big Five Banks. See photos below.
The Go Java team featured information about responsible coffee pod recycling while treating participants to a complimentary coffee. See photos below.
